Torben Smith is the editor of Biocomputers.co.uk. He has a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Nottingham and has spent more than two decades teaching chemistry.
Biocomputing crosses neuroscience, bioengineering, electronics and machine learning, so this site does not present its editor as a specialist in every part of the field. Technical claims are tied to primary papers or clearly labelled company sources, and the evidence database keeps those source types separate.
Editorial approach
The aim is to maintain a useful scientific record as terminology, hardware and commercial activity develop. Pages are revised when stronger evidence appears, and system records carry a source-check date.
Evidence methodology describes the labels used throughout the site.
