FinalSpark is a Swiss company based in Vevey. Its Neuroplatform combines maintained three-dimensional neuronal cultures, multielectrode arrays, automated culture support and a software interface that allows external researchers to run electrophysiology experiments remotely.
The 2024 peer-reviewed platform paper reported more than 1,000 organoids used over several years and lifetimes exceeding 100 days in the best cases. The platform exposes stimulation and recording through a Python API and Jupyter environment.
Why it matters
Remote access lowers one of the major barriers in biocomputing: the need for every computational group to run its own cell culture, microfluidics and electrophysiology infrastructure.
