Cortical Labs describes the CL1 as a code-deployable biological computer. Living neurons grow directly on a custom silicon interface; software can record activity, deliver current-based stimulation and run real-time closed-loop experiments.
Cortical also offers Cortical Cloud, which exposes biological computing remotely without requiring the user to maintain the culture hardware. That makes CL1 important as infrastructure even before any broad performance advantage over conventional computing has been established.
Commercial platform with a peer-reviewed research lineage. Product availability and API capabilities are manufacturer-documented; performance and efficiency claims should be assessed separately.
